Utusan Melayu is a Malay daily printed in the Jawi script. This photograph is one of a series taken during the "Expo Every Day Asia" event, held at Oxley High School, and co-organised with the 1st North Tamworth Boy Scouts. Radio Australia mentioned the event in its first Indonesian-language broadcast. The embassies of Indonesia, Laos, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Pakistan, Taiwan, India and Ceylon contributed to the event. The report from the 1970 issue of the school magazine, Quest, notes that "The Department of External Territories supplied a very comprehensive display on New Guinea, illustrating the progress New Guinea has made in recent years."
