Abstract

Biographical/historical information: Albert Henry Tétaz (1874-1924) was the Australian born son of Frédéric Auguste and Julie Louise Tétaz, née Studi. The Tetaz family was among the Swiss vine dressers and winemakers who emigrated from the cantons of Neuchâtel and Vaud to Victoria (1840s-1860s). Diary used for account keeping in front and back pages. Diary is three days to a page. Brief notes written under each date. These concern the weather, daily activities relating to business (work in cellar, store, bar), work on car, outings (pictures, football matches). Diary written in a French which departs from standard spelling and grammatical rules and makes use of English (eg "car"; "pictures"). The box contains a photograph of Albert Henry Thétaz.
