Congratulations to @ebonynilsson, winner of the 2024 Allan Martin Award for her project ‘Russians Among Us’! The judges welcomed this 'innovative' proposal and its focus on 'local communities' using 'English and Russian sources'. A heart congrats! 🎉
At a conference recently I suggested that something like this would be useful for historians around the world (particularly in ex-colonies) who may have German but not this specific skill. I'm watching this development with interest.

The question Telling the Time comes up frequently in perjury cases involving Chinese migrants in the Australian courts. Here a Chinese calendar from Melbourne was used as evidence; European time was Truth in Australian courts so using Chinese time was a lie.
