Description Colour slide of a smiling nurse standing next to a multilingual sign pointing to the outpatients clinic at Bonegilla migrant centre Hospital. Inscription 26 Dimensions 50 x 50 History of Item Alek Lyras emigrated from Greece and travelled to Australia on the ship Kirinia. He arrived at on 3 November 1956 and stayed at the Centre for ten years working in a variety of jobs including: gardener, garbage collector, ration and equipment stores, driver and part-time barman at the Hume Public Service Club. |
