Description From Source Digital image and copy print A dinner menu drawn and compiled by an internee at the Australian Prisoner of War and Internment Camp, Loveday, South Australia. The menu is signed by some of the internees and is created with a touch of humour and irony in that the dishes listed on the menu include such things as: ‘Antipasto di uova di canguro’, ‘Canelloni al vento con sabbia’ and ‘Dolce Bell’Australia’. This menu was souvenired by Marco Gazzi one of the inmates at the camp, who was also one of the Dunera contingent of civil internees who came out from England in 1941 after he was arrested there while working in a business run by an Italian family [relatives] and hence was deemed to be an ‘enemy alien’.
