Description From Source TITLE: Immigration – Migrants in the community – German Saturday school – Hamburg-born engineer Hans Bels worked as a sound technician for the Nordwestdeutsche Rundfunk before he migrated to Australia with his wife and sons Rainer and Thomas, now aged 10 and 9. In Sydney, where the family settled, Hans Bels joined the Australian Broadcasting Commission, but later entered the commercial field and is now sales engineer with a well-known firm importing electronic equipment. When, in 1960, the German Saturday school was established in Sydney under the patronage of the German Consulate, Hans Bels was elected its first president.
