Abstract

Biographical/historical information: Albert Henry Tétaz (1874-1924) was the Australian born son of Frédéric Auguste and Julie Louise Tétaz, née Studi. The Tetaz family was among the Swiss vine dressers and winemakers who emigrated from the cantons of Neuchâtel and Vaud to Victoria (1840s-1860s). Diary used for account keeping in front and back pages. Diary is three days to a page. Brief notes written under each date. These concern the weather, daily activities relating to business (work in cellar, store, bar), work on car, outings (pictures, football matches). Diary written in a French which departs from standard spelling and grammatical rules and makes use of English (eg “car”; “pictures”). The box contains a photograph of Albert Henry Thétaz.

The labelled photographs include Clara Sophie Thétaz, Leonard Geoffrey Connor, Albert Henry Thétaz, Cecile Thétaz, Jane Connor, Cecile Phtyllis Connor and James Millar Brock Connor. Three diaries kept by Albert Henry Thétaz for 1922, 1923 and 1924 (written in French).
