Manuscript comprises the autograph letter signed, dated 8 July 1842 [i.e. 1841], by Dumont d’Urville to his publisher Gide concerning corrections to the proofs of Voyage au Pôle Sud et dans l’Océanie sur les corvettes l’Astrolabe et la Zélée 1837-1840. The letter was written from his property “Juliade”, near Toulon, the French naval port on the Mediterranean
