Description From SourceDescriptive note The National Archives gave this file the title ‘Chinese seamen Internees [Box 586]’, probably in 1995. The title page is partially missing and states only ‘‘Chinese sea….’ The file apparently concerns alien registration and security investigation of Chinese seamen. It does not seem to include any placement in internment camps of Chinese sailors. It does name Chinese sailors refusing to serve on a ship who were therefore to be detained at Long Bay until deported or willing to serve on the ship. Series C123 was mistitled ‘Dossiers on internees’ and only corrected in the early 2000s.
