Description from source |
3, 293 p., [2] leaves of plates : ill. ; 19 cm. The book is in microfiche format. Title translated into English: Australia on the go. Synopsis of content: In this text the author incorporates wartime rhetoric such as references to Australia joining the Greater East Asian Co-prosperity Sphere, and argues that the Australian people must realize that they are people of the Pacific. It is the great misfortune of Australia, the author concludes, that it does not have a visionary leader to make this possible. The work contains descriptive sections concerning the lifestyle of Australia. There are some sections that were obviously written after the declaration of war, such as the chapter ‘Notice to the Anzacs’ in which he praises the bravery of Australian soldiers, but questions their reasons for fighting. |
