Description From SourceContents 7 watercolours – 79 x 58 cm or smaller – watercolour and gouache 1 print – 21 x 14 cm – woodcut These watercolours and woodcut were created by Dunera internee Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack whilst interned in Hay, Orange and Tatura internment camps during the Second World War, or after his release. Hirschfeld-Mack had studied and taught at the Weimar Bauhaus school. Applies to: P4/51; PXA 7728/Items 1-7 Administrative / Biographical history Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack (1893–1965) was an internee on the HMT Dunera and a founding member of the Bauhaus, and art master at Geelong Grammar School from 1942 to 1957. Hirschfeld-Mack was one the most well-known artists to arrive on the Dunera. During his internment Hirschfeld-Mack taught drawing classes in the camp university.
