28.7 cm (Length), 20.7 cm (Height) Double page from an exercise book with blue lines, handwriting in pencil. Diary used by Latvian immigrant Karina Nartiss (nee Zars), circa 1948-1949. Karina immigrated to Australia following World War Two, after spending time in a Displaced Persons camps in Germany. She arrived in Australia on 24 May 1949. Karina appeared on the 1954 Australian 10 Pound Note. |
