Box includes also a short biographical note about Basil Logus, who was born in Constantinopole in 1901, and migrated to Australia in 1923. He worked hard as a labourer, fisherman, waiter and cafe manager, retrained and became the first Greek born, trained accountant working in Melbourne. By the late 1930s, he had become a prominent figure in the Melbourne Greek community and Mary was immersed in it as well. Maria would often appeal to the members of AHEPA for help and they responded satisfactorily.
