Description From Source340 p., [14] p. of plates : ill. ; 19 cm. Title translated into English: The Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere and agriculture. Synopsis of content: This work is a study aimed to promote the Japanese wartime concept of the Greater East Asian Co-prosperity Sphere. This included the independent countries of Japan, Manchuria, China and Thailand, as well as the colonies of the ‘white man’ in South East Asia. The author concedes that although such countries as India, Australia and (Russian) Primorskii, are generally considered outside of the scope of the sphere, there is an argument for their inclusion. Consequently, the treatment of Australia in the book consists only of a brief overview of its geography, industry, trade and agriculture.
