German Consulate Records – miscellaneous papers relating to; consular files, NSDAP membership and funding, letter of introduction and CIB (Commonwealth Investigation Branch) report – 1935 to 1936. Activity of NSDAP in Australia, including a report on New Guinea. [Copy of record seized from German Consulate Sydney at outbreak of WW2] The records that comprise this series were seized from the Japanese and German consulates in Australia during World War II. The records were seized by the Commonwealth Investigation Branch, but this series itself was created by the Security Section, a division of the Investigation Branch, in April 1946, as the Section worked its way through an analysis of the records. |
