Description from source |
Program for Soirée dramatique, director not listed, performers listed are: Mr. A.G. Sweetapple, Miss P. Gillman, Miss Violet de Mole and Miss Hope Crampton. ‘Thursday evening a ‘soiree dramatique’ was arranged by Miss Violet de Mole at her rooms, Lister House, North Terrace, in aid of the French village of Dernancourt to which South Australia acts as godmother. Artistic souvenir programmes set forth the plot of the three dramatic scenes which were staged, so that those whose knowledge of French did not extend beyond ‘lion oncle a baise le chatnoir du jardinier’ were able to follow the fluent speeches of the dramatis personae.’ The Mail, 21 October, 1922, page 7. |
