Description From Source 1 map : colour ; 1 hemisphere 29.2 cm in diameter, on sheet 52.2 x 42.3 cm Notes: Map on a circular projection, derived from the southern hemisphere map from accounts of Captain James Cook and his second voyage, 1772-1775, to circumnavigate the globe as far south as possible. The map illustrates the tracks of the Resolution. Australia is referred to as ‘the fifth continent’. Shows Australia named as Neu Holland. Prime meridian: Greenwich. Decorated with a garland of leaves draped across the upper half. The individual continents are colour-keyed. Includes table of degrees of longitude and comparison of lengths in miles to different countries. National Library of Australia has manuscript annotation on verso: No. 3.
