Description From Source 6 cards: chromolithograph; 11.1 x 7.1 cm. Artist unidentified. Undated but circa 1900. Individual titles printed in French on verso. Trading cards like these date mainly from the end of the 19th century through to the 1940s & 50s. They were issued as advertising and given away with purchases. Compagnie Liebig produced a meat extract product. Cards include depictions of Tasmanian Aborigines Truganini and William Lanne, Mount Wellington; Victorian vineyards and grape harvest, Arunta tribesmen; an Aboriginal tree burial, a giant kangaroo; goldminers in Coolgardie, Kimberley country, Queensland Aborigines; the Blue Mountains, Sydney Harbour, an Aboriginal hunter; South Australian pasture, the MacDonnell Ranges, a mother emu and chicks. Each card features further explanatory text on verso. Card 1: La Tasmanie. La baie de la Tempête et le Mont Wellington près Hobart — Types de Tasmaniens — Les deux derniers Tasmaniens.
