Evdokia Nakou (family name Delaporta) was born in Ithaca and immigrated to Australia in 1940. Particularly, she was in the boat when the Greek – Italian war happened. Evdokia was an active member of the Greek community in Newcastle, NSW, and she was involved with charities. In 1950 she married Ioanni Nako, and she moved to Sydney. Herself and her husband supported many Greek newcomers financially and socially. Evdokia also made wedding dresses for Greek brides. |
