Abstract

Letter from Marcel Pradinet, Victoria, to Monsieur Zacarie Arboulat, Carbonne, France. French goldminer Marcel Pradinet was located at the Jim Crow goldfield, Victoria. Letter discusses previous correspondence sent to his brother in 1846 and 1849. Letter describes the news of gold in Australia in 1850 and the cost associated with travelling to and within Victoria and the cost of living in 1853. Marcel Pradinet discusses the price of gold per ounce, and the conditions within the camp.
