Single sheet of white paper folded in two, inscribed in black ink on first two pages, whole folded into envelope size and originally sealed with red wax. Letter from Sydney to London written in Portuguese apparently of a commercial nature. Front of folded letter: addressed to: ‘Mrss Frederic Ha…h & Co/London. Stamped ‘PAID SHIP LETTER SYDNEY/JA 9/1840’. Reverse: ‘1840/T.A. Curtons/Sidney…’ Stamped: ‘Ju11/1840…’ |
