Abstract

Narbey was a French colonist who arrived in Akaroa in 1849. In May 1854, he went to Australia to prospect for gold but returned to New Zealand in Dec that year. After a period as a sawyer in Taranaki, he returned to Akaroa in Apr 1855. Diary describes his visit to Australia and his time in Taranaki; covers the period 15 Apr 1854-15 Apr 1855 and May 1855. Includes lists, verse and lyrics.
