Skurla’s manuscript describes the experiences of the castaways and provides informatoin about the life and language of the Aboriginal people of the North-West Cape. Stefano Skurla was a Roman Catholic priest. Photocopy of the Rijeka manuscript of The Stefano Castaways by Stjepan (Stefano) Skurla, in Italian, supplied by the Maritime and History Museum, Rijeka, Croatia. The manuscript was translated by Amedeo Sala, edited by John Melville-Jones, and published by Warrigal Press, c 2009.
