1 print : wood engraving ; 32 x 44 cm. Translation of title: A history of bandits in Australia – Miss Kelly has appeared in his legendary costume. Illustration in centre of French journal, folded down centre showing Kate Kelly? standing with arms folded facing down armed troopers who have crashed through the door, the bodies of two men on the floor beside her. The fallen men are wearing cuirasses and pot helmets of a much earlier European time, the woman is wearing a feathered brimmed hat and a sword, but the image is referring to the Kelly gang and Ned’s sister.
