Papers relating to Henry Handel Richardson, 1895-1970 [manuscript]
Abstract
The collection comprises mainly photocopies of articles, reviews, reference citations and newspaper clippings about Henry Handel Richardson. Some of these are in German, French and Danish, but the majority are in English. The papers also include some correspondence between various staff of the National Library of Australia, including H.L. White, to overseas institutions. The purpose of these letters was to acquire the bibliographic details of articles or reviews about Henry Handel Richardson. There are also two original photographs. One is of Richardson’s alma mater, the Ladies Presbyterian College, Melbourne, and the other of her home “Green Ridges”. This photo is signed on the verso by Henry Handel Richardson. Included in the collection is a copy of volume 25, no. 3 of ‘Studia neophilologica’, a journal of Germanic and Romance languages and literature.
