Description From Source1cm.; Printed and original ms. Passport to Australia (in Italian), issued on the 29th December 1885 by the Italian Ministor for External Affairs, requesting safe passage for Salvatore Cavallaro to Melbourne; includes official stamps and seals; provides physical description and vital statistics, giving his age as 23, his birthplace and residence as Riposto, Sicily, showing him to be 1.56 metres tall, cleanshaven, with black hair and eyes, and his occupation as ‘sailor’. Letter from the Commonwealth of Australia’s Department of External Affairs informing him that his application for naturalization has been approved, dated 9th August 1912, with envelope stamped 10th August 1912. Certificate of Naturalization issued 24th July 1912, signed by Lord Denman, Governor General, with envelope stamped 10th August 1912.
