(2 folders) Diary, 1899 Mar. 25-1899 May 30, with English translation Letter, 1899 Apr. 19, Lenakel, Tana to George Heyer, from Clara Heyer Letter, 1899 [May 22?] Lord Howe Island to George Heyer from Clara Heyer Copy of obituary on Pastor George Heyer, 1921 June 21 Copy of typescript entitled A short stretch of my life, to my jubilee, by George Heyer, [c. 1920]. Diary contains an account of a visit to the New Hebrides, 1899. Heyer sailed from Melbourne on 26 March and visited Sydney, Newcastle, Noumea and Aneityum, reaching Lenakel on the island of Tana on 21 April. Apart from the voyage, there are references to missionaries, including Frank Paton and William Gunn, church services, social events, the illness of Clara Paton, landscape, climate and insects. Heyer left Lenakel on 13 May and returned to Sydney via Aneityum, Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island. The diary is in one volume and is accompanied by two volumes of translation.
