MS 5015 comprises two letters from Sir Hubert Wilkins to Jorma Pohjanpalo written in 1956 and 1957, four negatives and a photograph of Wilkins, and a 1974 article in Finnish (“The famous modest explorer of the Arctic regions”); small autograph with typed covering note, “Captain Kingsford-Smith’s autograph given by himself to Mr. Jorma Pohjanpalo, Secretary of the Consulate for Finland in Sydney, 20 June 1928”; Pohjanpalo’s article “Captain Cook and a Finn discovering the South Seas”, published in Keskipoljanmaa, Finland, 13 February 1977, together with the English translation; also, the chapter on Australia “Under the southern sun” from Pohjanpalo’s memoirs Onpahan eletty, published in Helsinki in 1974.
