Aleksiou Magoulia, Irini
Family name |
Aleksiou Magoulia |
Short description |
One of Aleksandros’s daughters, Irini Aleksiou, pursued examinations to become a pharmacist. However, due to the absence of a relevant university in Darwin, she opted to abandon her dream. Since then, she has volunteered at the Brotherhood as a secretary and interpreter for the community and the police. Given the absence of paid government translation services at that time, community members volunteered to assist with translations. Irini and her husband Nikitas Magoulias ran several restaurants. Drawing from her experience in cooking for large groups, Irini now volunteers to cook for the community. Together with her husband, they donated an apartment in Patisia, Athens, to the Kalymnian Brotherhood of Athens for the benefit of students from Kalymnos. |
